Motorcycle Pre-Ride Checklist & Health Report
Check tires, brakes, lights and drive before every ride, then read a straight verdict on what your motorcycle needs. MACHINA builds the report from your own service log.

The pre-ride checklist
Four checks run before every ride, whatever condition the bike is in. The whole check takes about 30 seconds.
- Tires — pressure, tread, no cuts.
- Brakes — lever and pedal firm.
- Lights — headlight, tail light, brake light and signals.
- Drive — chain slack and lube, or belt tension and cracks. The item matches your ride: chain, belt, or a scooter’s CVT belt.
When a part is overdue, MACHINA adds a sharper check for it, in plain words: “Squeeze the front brake and hold it. Does the lever stay firm instead of slowly sinking?” Progress saves as you tick, and the report counts how many rides in a row you have checked.
A straight verdict
The report opens with a health score and one sentence on where the bike stands. It names what is wrong and what to do about it: “Brakes are overdue. Run the check above before you ride.” When everything is on schedule, it says that instead.
It is honest about what it knows. A part past its interval by a logged odometer reading is overdue. A part past it only by the projected odometer may be overdue, and the report asks you to update the reading to confirm. A part with no service record is reported as a gap, never passed off as healthy.
Riding guidance until it is fixed
When brakes or tires are overdue, the report gives limits to ride by until the work is done, depending on which is affected:
- Keep it under 40 km/h.
- Skip the expressway.
- Leave twice your normal following gap.
- Go easy in the wet.
The guidance is advice. MACHINA never locks you out of riding.
Every part, ranked
- What stops you — brakes and tires, the parts that decide whether you can stop and grip.
- What keeps it running — overdue engine and drive parts.
- Worth watching — everything else you track, worst first.
- No record — parts with no service logged yet, kept apart because a gap in the record is not a fault in the bike.
Each part shows how many days until it is due, or how far past it, from your own riding rate. Tap a part for what it does, what to do about it, and what the job costs: the price you usually pay, or a typical range in pesos.
What the report tracks between checks
- Since your last check — what got worse since your last completed pre-ride check, with the days and distance in between.
- Interval habits — after two real services of a part, the report compares your actual gap with the recommended interval: ahead, on time, slipping or late.
- Fuel economy — a sustained drop in fuel economy points to the parts most likely behind it, with gaps in your fuel log taken into account.
Questions
What should a motorcycle pre-ride check cover?
Tire pressure and tread, brake lever and pedal feel, every light, and the chain or belt. MACHINA checks those four on every ride and adds a check for any overdue part.
Does the health report stop me from riding?
No. It is advisory. When brakes or tires are overdue, it says so and gives riding limits until they are fixed.
Where does the health score come from?
From your service log and odometer. The further a part is past its interval, the more it lowers the score, and the worst part weighs the most. With no service logged, there is no score.
Do I need to log every past service first?
No. Parts with no service logged are listed under No record. Log their last service, or set what the bike last had done, and they join the report.
