Terms of Service for MACHINA: Know Your Ride

Acceptance of Terms

These terms form an agreement between you and Kim Roland Berame. Your use of MACHINA confirms that you have read, understood, and accepted them. They apply each time you use the app.

License to Use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use MACHINA on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You do not own the app; you own only the data you create with it. All rights in the app itself remain with us.

The App Is a Tool, Not a Guarantee

MACHINA generates maintenance reminders, countdowns, and estimates based solely on the data you enter — mileage, service history, schedules, and similar. It does not inspect your motorcycle, measure anything on its own, or verify what you record.

MACHINA is not a substitute for professional inspection or servicing, and it does not guarantee the condition, safety, or roadworthiness of any vehicle. You remain solely responsible for actually maintaining your motorcycle, for following your manufacturer’s recommendations, and for operating your vehicle safely and lawfully. Reminders may be missed, delayed, or inaccurate if the underlying data is incomplete or wrong.

Your Data and Responsibility

MACHINA is offline-first: the data you create is stored locally on your device, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not hold copies of it. You are responsible for backing up anything you want to keep. Uninstalling the app, or losing or resetting your device, deletes that data permanently.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms;
• copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the app;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except where such restriction is prohibited by law;
• interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app or any related services.

Third-Party Services and App Stores

MACHINA is built with, distributed, and updated through third-party platforms, including the Expo platform and the app store you obtained it from. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and policies, which are separate from these terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.

Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MACHINA is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its reminders or estimates will be accurate or timely.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of or inability to use the app — including missed or overdue maintenance, mechanical failure, vehicle damage, personal injury, or loss of data. You use MACHINA at your own risk.

Changes to the App and These Terms

We may update, change, or discontinue the app or any of its features at any time. We may also update these terms as the app evolves; material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
